Cedar Tree Neck Studies
Cedar Tree Neck Studies
Study 3 more horizon
For Victoria’s Window, I was asked to use very rich colors. I was concerned about the window looking too dark, so I decided to do a series of studies. There were rich colors like fuchsia, dark greens, and deep purple. The studies were very successful in helping the client and me know what the big window would be looking like. I posted them on social media and the first two sold right away. The third one sold this past summer and the fourth one is in my studio. For the last one, I added a top fire low temperature paint to add an additional glow to the window, (see video to the left). I used the glass in a more abstract way in the first two. See all four below. This gave me the courage to do the large window with more confidence. All framed in carved stainless steel frames, 19” x 25”, fused stained glass with metal oxide underpainting, with low temperature top fire paints.
Study 1. more abstract, no horizon line
Study 2 some horizon with blue glass
Study 4 clouds and blue in horizon area
Here are some detail images that really capture the depth of color in these studies. Last one for sale in SHOP. $2500
