Drawings
Drawing was first used for developing ideas for sculpture and glass projects. Figure drawing and portraits are an important way to keep up drawing skills. He spent a decade with a drawing group once a week hiring a model with friends. Now Zeitz draws while travelling using charcoal as his primary medium. As of late, he has done many ink drawings as well. Ink on paper is the most spontaneous form of art that he does, Zeitz feels that drawing is a way of seeing, rarely uses photographs, and prefers to piece together a composition while sitting in a club hearing music, or in a restaurant, riding the ferry from Martha’s Vineyard, constantly gathering elements from all around the room to make the drawing work. Drawing has become as important ti him as the sculptures or glasswork
