STAINED GLASS : LEADED, FUSED, FUSION CASTING
Barney Zeitz has been working with stained glass since 1972. He is proficient in both leaded and copper foil (Tiffany) techniques, and since 1977 has developed a style of fused stained glass using metal oxides between the layers of stained glass. The windows can be leaded together, or laminated in a fused and bonding technique. He has also made molds for fusion casting.

Yoga Barn, Chilmark - This fused and bonded stained glass window was built for the Yoga Barn for Scarlett Jarrell from a small sketch she made. Barney built this 60" diameter with his fused glass technique using metal oxides between the layers of stained glass.

Malkin Window - This project was designed from images that the client took of the clay cliffs in Chilmark. The idea was to make an abstract window using the cracks in the clay and colors of the cliffs. I tried several versions and found that multiple layering was possible with the top glazes and look forward to more windows with this layering.

Gitlin Windows - These windows are photographed in my studio before delivery to Providence. They are fused stained glass with metal oxide under paintings. The central rectangle is 40" x 60" with two silicone seams that run vertically. This is all fired onto thick base glass so the resulting panels are between 3/8" and 5/8". This method would be very applicable for a wall of glass with sections as large as 40" x 60" within a stainless steel grid.
