The glass shades are cast flat in a kiln in shape of a donut, then slumped on clay forms twice to get the steep pitch, so there are three firings for each shade.

Every element of metalwork is hand cut plate steel, brazed with gas welding, wire is passed through a steel gas line that is brazed onto the arm.
